St Vincent and the Grenadines: The authorities of St Vincent and the Grenadines charged an 18-year-old man in connection with the death of the mother of three-month-old twins of Campden Park Community. It is to be noted that the victim was chopped to death on the day of Valentine, 14th February 2024.

The accused has been identified as 18-year-old Kayode Richardson of Campden Park and he was charged at the Criminal Investigation Department of the nation for the offence of killing 30-year-old Carona Temisha Petronia Jennings.

According to the information, the dead body of the victim was taken for a postmortem examination on Friday and the reports revealed that Carona Jennings died from “Exsanguination Due to Multiple Sharp Force Injuries.”

Moreover, Kayode Richardson has been asked to remain in custody and will be taken to the Kingstown Magistrate Court for the offence he committed on Monday, 19th February 2024.

Carona Jennings is mother to 7 children and as per the reports, one of her children was at a relative's place and on returning, the child found her mother dead in the yard. Meanwhile, the twin babies of the women who were born last December were discovered inside the premises. Notably, this incident also marks the seventh homicide registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines. Therefore, such cases highlight the need for the authorities to take stringent measures in order to curb the increasing crime rates.

Also, the citizens have appealed to the government to strengthen the rule of law, ensuring the safety and security of the citizens.

Various residents of the community also took to their social media accounts and expressed their views on the news and extended condolences to the friends and family of the deceased.

One person with a Facebook account Chris Howe commented “My heart goes out for that lady who was murdered and her kids who have to suffer. It hurt my heart but God knows best.”

“May there be justice served, and let her rest in eternal peace,” wrote Lynn Graham.

Another person with a Facebook account Isher Ventour commented the following “Oh wow, now the twins are left without a mom, and you will be sent away for the rest of your life. May her soul rest in peace.”
