A cargo shipment loaded with supplies from St Lucia left for St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday morning. The donations were collected from across the island to help SVG, passing through tough times due to the eruption of the La Soufriere volcano.
Prime Minister of St Lucia Allen Chastanet thanked all for coming forward to donate what they could.
He stated that the Windward and Leeward Brewery contains donations from the general public to NEMO SVG.
PM Chastanet stated NEMO Saint Lucia and Cadet Corps are worked hard on Friday for loading the ship, which is organized by the OECS. The supplies consist of necessary items, including water, mosquito repellents, dry food items, sanitary items. He stated that this is the third shipment from St Lucia as 400 cots were sent last week and water earlier this week."Let's continue to give if we can in support our brothers and sisters in need. Prayers up for St Vincent" added St Lucia Prime Minister Allen Chastanet.
Earlier on Thursday, St Vincent and the Grenadines received a shipment of supplies from Trinidad and Tobago.
