Royal Bahamas Defence Force Instructors's training courses ends
Bahamas: Royal Bahamas Defence Force Instructors completed their Training Courses. In agreement with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr Raymond King’s decisive intent of growing a professional and high-performance workforce concentrated on excellence and continuation planning, thirty-two (32) Marines from the RBDF, Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Training Department are entirely equipped with the necessary tools that will aid them in improving their education and skills, after finishing the Train-the-Trainer Instructor’s Course at HMBS Coral Harbour. About Program The one-week training program was conducted face-to-face and through Zoom. The facilitators involved Dr Yvonne Hunter-Johnson, Associate Professor, and Mr Dauran McNiel, Doctoral Student, both from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale), and Dr Novia Carter-Lookie, Assistant Professor from the University of the Bahamas. Sessions were produced to aid in developing, presenting, and managing effective training programs and enhance the candidates’ ability to build lesson plans and objectives effectively. This will help them in conducting and measuring Adult Learning. The course's academic and practical aspects involved Principles of Adult Learning, Learning Styles, Developing Lesson strategies, Writing Training Objectives, Instructional procedures & Techniques, Incorporating Technology, and Training Management Systems. As a measuring apparatus, candidates presented a topic of their preference using all of the areas mentioned.  The RBDF instructors all walked off with greater recognition for the importance of training and delivery in a relevant and modern way through the implementation of contemporary technology. The RBDF Training Officer, Lieutenant Commander Valentino Rolle, and Course Director, Chief Petty Officer Shamica Duncombe, acknowledged the facilitators and applicants for their remarkable accomplishments. They were presented with certificates on November 3, 2021, during a brief event by Commander Milton Munroe, Squadron Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Commander Valentino Rolle, and the Training Department's Warrant Officers. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force proceeds to develop its officers and Marines' skill set to maintain up-to-date with the cutting advantage of technology.
