Kittitian coaches all set to attend World Sailing Training in Saint Lucia

According to the information, Nickhail Rogers, Commodore and Instructor of the St Kitts Yacht Club, and Amadi Byron Hendrickson, present Junior Instructor of the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center, will be joining many other Caribbean island coaches for the World Sailing Level 1 Course.

St. Kitts and Nevis: The St Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association expressed its pride in announcing that two coaches of their team are all set to attend the World Sailing Training in Saint Lucia. According to the information, Nickhail Rogers, Commodore and Instructor of the St Kitts Yacht Club, and Amadi Byron Hendrickson, present Junior Instructor of the Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center, will be joining many other Caribbean island coaches for the World Sailing Level 1 Course.

This training will take place at the Saint Lucia Yacht Club in Rodney Bay from June 19 to 25, 2024. This World Sailing Level 1 Course will take place in collaboration with the Olympic Solidarity. Its goal is to provide the required skills for instructors to teach someone to sail.

During the end of the certification course, instructors will be able to run a Learn to Sail Program and will be equipped to run a sailing center and lastly manage other instructors while maintaining a safe sailing environment.

The SKNSA wished Nickhail and Amadi all the best and said that they are looking forward to hearing and executing the innovative techniques gained at this training. They further expressed their happiness to support such initiatives as it brings future development for the sailors both in St. Kitts and in Nevis.

Meanwhile, St Kitts Yacht Club also wished them luck and outlined, “The St. Kitts Yacht Club joins the St. Kitts and Nevis Sailing Association and Nevis Aquatic and Sailing Center in wishing our Coaches Nickhail and Amadi all the best in their upcoming training with St Lucia Yacht Club.” They further added that it will be a great opportunity for both of them as they will acquire great knowledge and expertise during the World Sailing training in Saint Lucia along with several other sailors from across the Caribbean. This is an investment of St. Kitts and Nevis in its instructors for the future development of the youth sailors.
