Government invests $300,000 in 2018 Grenada music fest
Fifty percent increase from 2017 investment

Grenada’s former Minister for Culture Brenda Hood has said that the government is “very proud of the Pure Grenada Music Festival” as they announce their funding for the 2018 edition.An investment of $300,000 has been agreed for next year, $100,000 more than the government invested in this year’s festival.
The proposal for more money suggested that it was necessary if the government wants to event to be “the best in the region”, she said.
Hood said that during her tenure as culture minister she felt it was an important venture to support.
“[The] government believes that we do have a responsibility to give support to initiatives just like this.”
Occasions like the Pure Grenada Music Festival create employment for young people, she added.
The three-day festival is scheduled for 13-15 April 2018.
