The Commonwealth of Dominica has proudly secured itself 3rd position in the list of Affordable Caribbean Islands Perfect for Retirement.  The list released by the international publication The Travel said that the estimated monthly cost of living in Dominica is $856, which is much cheaper and can be afforded by people looking for a perfect place to relocate after retirement.  According to the publication, the island is also known as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, and it is a paradise for expats seeking a picturesque setting. The Travel noted that the island is famous for its beautiful natural landscapes, majestic waterfalls, lush rainforests and pristine beaches.  It also mentioned that residing in Dominica offers expats the opportunity to immerse themselves in a vibrant culture as well as close knit community. Also, the nation’s laid-back lifestyle and welcoming locals create an inviting and warm atmosphere for retirees looking to enjoy their future in a peaceful environment.  Not only this, but The Travel also said that Dominica is increasingly becoming a famous ecotourism destination, and retirees are seeing the benefits to be had amid the natural wonders. The publication also stressed a quote by the Discover Dominica Authority and said that it is actually true.  The quote mentions that one can find what they are looking for in Dominica, whether it is a rugged day of hiking, a lazy afternoon relaxing on a veranda or a heart stirring day of diving. It adds that the people of Dominica will welcome the visitors with open arms and offer them restorative days and relaxing nights.  Notably, the average population of the country is 73,265 while the percentage of population above the age of 65 is 9.8%. The Travel also mentioned that the average monthly rent for a one bedroom apartment is $360.  Meanwhile, the list released by The Travel comprises 7 islands across the Caribbean, which the magazine thinks are the most ‘Affordable Caribbean Islands Perfect for Retirement’.
