DLP to launch Cozier Fredrick for Salybia Constituency on September 8
The party is all set to launch its fresh candidate Cozier Fredrick in the political fray of upcoming general elections in Dominica

The Salybia Parliament Constituency has been a Dominica Labour Party citadel for 20 years in a row, the party is all set to launch its fresh candidate Cozier Fredrick in the political fray of upcoming general elections in Dominica. Cozier Fredrick is also the acting Kalinago Development Officer. DLP will launch Fredrick on September 8th at Gaulette River Playing Field, Salybia.
The launch of Cozier Fredrick was announced by Prime Minister and DLP leader Dr Roosevelt Skerrit during his speech at the launch of Dr Adis King on Sunday, 25 August. “As I said last Sunday evening, we are in the home stretch. Tonight, we are in St Joseph and on September 8th we journey to Salybia in Kalinago Territory,” he said.
Dominica Labour Party has triumphed the Salybia constituency from past four elections with heavy margins. In the year 2014, DLP candidate Casius Darroux defeated the United Workers Party candidate Claudius Sanford with 1152 votes as opposition folded up at only 733 vote shares, whereas, total 2643 votes were polled.
Same as in the general elections of 2009, Ashton Graneau of DLP won Salybia with 1013 votes by defeating Claudius Sanford of UWP who managed to get only 684 votes. In the year 2005 and 2000 DLP candidates secured Salybia constituency in the general elections after which the party continued its winning streak till 2019, now it will be seen as if DLP can manage to celebrate silver jubilee in the upcoming general elections of Dominica.
