Antigua and Barbuda: Delta Airlines is all set to launch daily nonstop flights from New York to Antigua to give airlift a major boost in winter season. The service will commence from Atlanta International Airport from December 7, 2024, to January 7, 2025, following which the airline will return to its twice-a-week service every Tuesday and Saturday. The airline has also announced that it will introduce weekly service from the John F Kennedy International Airport, New York to Antigua. This service is anticipated to drive travel from the famous tri-city area in the United States. The USA is the primary market of travellers for Antigua and Barbuda.

As the development was announced, the Minister of Tourism, Henry Charles Fernandez attributed the increase in airlift to new accommodations available in Antigua and Barbuda as well as a strong marketing campaign by the tourism officials and stakeholders.

He also said that the increased demand for Antigua and Barbuda is visible and the team is pleased to see major airlines like Delta showing their confidence in the country and boosting their services to the V.C. Bird International Airport as the US market continues to show the most expansion.

Meanwhile, the CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Colin C James also expressed his satisfaction with this new service.

He highlighted that the launch of the Delta Service from the large JFK hub is a significant development for the destination. James further noted that the New York tri-state area is the strongest catchment area within the US market and with Delta now operating from there, the travellers are getting another option to easily travel to Antigua and Barbuda during the peak winter season.

Antigua and Barbuda, known for its 365 beaches, all inclusive resorts as well as world class snorkelling is set to welcome travellers with open arms once again. This development also showcases the revival of a beloved route which was famous before the pandemic disrupted travel plans across the world.

The island is buzzing with activity lately boasting strong tourism numbers and strengthening their reputation as one of the most beautiful and romantic destinations in the Caribbean. This is why airlines are continuing to showcase their utmost confidence in the country and increasing their services to bring more travellers this year.
