Caution urged in Caribbean over potential tropical depression
High chance of cyclone within next five days
Tuesday, 4th July 2017

The National Hurricane Centre in Miami is forecasting that weather disturbances could affect the Caribbean region this week.
A nearly stationary broad area of low pressure located, about 650 miles (1,046km) west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms.
Environmental conditions are expected to become more conducive for development, and a tropical depression could form later this week.
By Wednesday the disturbance is expected to begin moving west-northwestward.
It should continue moving in that direction throughout the rest of the week, the NHC said.
The chance of a tropical cyclone forming within the next 48 hours is estimated at 70%, and this rising to an 80% chance of a one forming in the next five days.
