Barbados wins People's Choice Award at DC Embassy Chef Challenge
This marks the third time that Barbados has been a winner in the competition, as the chefs made mouth-watering cuisine.

The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. proudly secured the first position for the People's Choice Award during the DC Embassy Chef Challenge. The event was held at Union Station in Washington D.C, on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

The island was represented by Chefs Damian Leach of Cocktail Kitchen and Ann Marie Leach, a vegan chef and wellness coach at Yummy Mummies, as well as Dameain Williams, one of the leading mixologists in Barbados.
It is to be noted that the Embassy Chef Challenge is a distinguished international culinary event where embassy chefs from across the world come together for one day to showcase their country's cuisine and cooking techniques in a flavourful and friendly showdown.
The Senior Business Development Officer with BTMI USA, Tenisha Holder, who accompanied the group to the event said that she is proud of the island's amazing culinary talent.
Holder added that the talented chefs and mixologist did an outstanding job highlighting all the elements which makes Barbados such a unique place. She also said that the team perfectly showcased the world why the country is the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean."We share this win with Barbadians everywhere, whose talent and passion for food and drink shines through at the annual Barbados Food and Rum Festival," she added.
The DC Embassy Chef Challenge provided a platform to the team to showcase Barbadian foods and drinks which included the rum based drinks. Participating in this Embassy Chef Challenge and other similar food focused events helps to boost the island as a top destination for culinary travel, stated Tenisha Holder.Latest
