Jameela Hollingsworth is currently in the United Sates participating on the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). She is taking part in a three-week project on “Women in Entrepreneurship” from December 2 to December 22. Jameela is the owner of HR Boss, a Caribbean millennial career consultancy firm, based in Barbados. Hollingsworth founded the company with the mission of helping Caribbean millennials thrive in the region’s changing socio-economic landscape. Through HR Boss, young professionals are exposed to career seminars focused on developing their professional marketability.

During the program, she and other participants will examine examples of entrepreneurial efforts in the U.S., particularly those initiated or managed by women; explore the essential role of non-governmental and grassroots organizations in supporting and empowering the development of women-owned businesses; explore the social, economic, and political factors that influence and encourage the development of private enterprise in the U.S. and examine strategies for job creation.

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. The program brings together emerging leaders in their respective professions to learn from how U.S. experts in this profession operate, and to share best practices with the other program fellows who hail from the same region and across the globe.
