Antigua and Barbuda: PM Gaston Browne visit special students at Adele School

While sharing glimpses of his engagement with the young scholars, PM Browne remarked, “It was broad smiles and excitement all around when I included in my day’s schedule a visit to the Adele School for Special Children.”

Prime Minister was seen hugging and laughing at the children as they showed him their cooking talents. The visit was made last Thursday following which PM Browne vowed to continue such visits.
PM Gaston Browne also engaged the principal and staff of the institution on the school’s curriculum and how the government can improve the services provided for the students. According to the information, when it was the PM’s turn to engage with the students, he was showered with hugs and broad smiles as he sincerely listened to the students' plans for the future including work and family life.
While recalling the visit, PM Browne said that spending time with the differently abled students of the Adele School was a joy filled moment for him as the Prime Minister and as a parent.
He outlined, “Although differently abled, these students have demonstrated that they are developing compensatory mechanisms and cognitive adjustments to cope with their circumstances and therefore they too can make meaningful contributions to our society.”
The Prime Minister also lauded the principal and the staff members of the Adele School for the exceptional work they are doing consistently with these special members of the society and said, “I am truly impressed with their work.”Prime Minister Browne, before leaving the institution, informed the teachers of some of his recommendations for improving student life and knowledge and skills delivery at the institution.
