578 Dominican youngsters to study abroad on Government scholarships
Saint- Jean said that more than 500 students are financially assisted by the government at various learning institutions abroad

Education is an important aspect of any nation and educating the pupil of the country is the responsibility of the government. Government of Commonwealth of Dominica is helping 578 students in studying abroad on scholarships. Education Minister Petter Saint- Jean met the beneficiaries of financial assistance for the academic year 2019-2020 and this subject was discussed.
Saint- Jean said that more than 500 students are financially assisted by the government at various learning institutions abroad. He said, “578 young Dominicans are getting a chance to study in different countries and government is paying off the tuition fee along with housing and other expenses.”
“In some cases, only the tuition fee will be paid by the government whereas some students are getting full scholarships.” He added.
Speaking upon the budget he said, “Financial budget of the country is expected to be presented in parliament at the end of July or beginning of August since the financial year ends in June.”
Education Minister Petter Saint- Jean revealed that for academic session 2019-2020, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has already announced the budget of 10 million dollars to support the education of students. “Prime Minister has a vision for the youngsters of Dominica and him, education is something which can uplift a nation on a global platform thus he made the respective announcement even before the session.” He added
