3 Sprinters from St Vincent & the Grenadines secures sport in CARIFTA 2024
Three Sprinters and athletes, Devonrick Mack, Kao Devis and Ajay Delpesche, secured a spot in the Carifta Games 2024 this weekend.

Three Sprinters and athletes, Devonrick Mack, Kao Devis and Ajay Delpesche, secured a spot in the CARIFTA Games 2024 this weekend. The 51st edition of the CARIFTA Games is scheduled from March 30 to April 1, 2024, in St George, Grenada.
According to the information, Devonric Mack, Keo Davis, and Ajay Delpesche have been selected for the Under 20 400m and 200m run.
The three sprinters, including Devonrick Mack, clocked the fastest in the U-20 400m, taking a record time of 47.83 seconds, while Keo Davis and Ajay Delpesche clocked the fastest, taking 21.63 and 21.32 seconds to complete 200 meters, respectively.
The Athletics team of St Vincent and the Grenadines shared this remarkable achievement of their team earlier on Sunday. They expressed their pleasure and wished them all the best for the tournament.
Over the previous weekend, the long-distance runner Zichri Hepburn and Tyrha Charles also booked their place in Grenada for the Carifta Games. He won the 5000m at the Pamenos Ballantyne Distance & Jumps Classic, qualifying at 16:44.07s.
Notably, Devonric Mac is an 18-year-old long-distance athlete. He has also represented himself at National and International Levels and played well.
He first appeared at the Whitsuntide Games in Grenada held in June 2022 and became the fastest sprinter in the 100m and 200m run. He also won both the Under -20 Male 100 and 200m events.
Meanwhile, the 19-year-old Keo Davis also clinched the Gold in the U-17 male 200m and 400m in the CARIFTA 2022. Davis was also recognised as the St Vincent and the Grenadines’ top performer at this year’s Junior Carifta Games in Jamaica. He captured a silver and bronze in the 200m and 100m, respectively.
In February 2023, Davis also appeared in the 100th edition of the St. Vincent Grammar School's Inter-House Athletics Championships.
This victory has qualified him for the U20 Boys 200m for the Carifta Games in the Bahamas in 2023. he also ran a Carifta qualifying time 10.71 to win the 100m.
Further, Ajay Delpesche is another great player in the St Vincent and the Grenadines Under 20 athletes theme. In 2022, he made his remarkable appearance in the Inter-Secondary Schools’ Championship, breaking a 40-year-old high jump record when he sprang 1.88 metres high. In September 2022, he was also recognised as the most muscular record-breaking athlete on the billboards.
