Jamaica: A 19-year-old teenager was chopped to death following a dispute with two men on Thursday afternoon at Top Road, Little London Westmoreland. Upon encountering the incident, the locals called the police immediately. After reaching the scene, the officials carried out the investigation within no time. Meanwhile, after enquiring with the eyewitnesses and locals, it has been reported that the 19-year-old teenager, identified as Enrico Chambers, aka Rico, is a resident of the Broughton district in the community. He is a farmer by profession and was visiting his sister at her residence in Westmoreland. The officials further stated that it was about 9 AM, and the Victim was sitting on a verandah at her sister's residence when he got into a heated argument with two suspects who were walking down the street. However, after a while, the two of the suspects left the scene after threatening him and then returned with strapped machetes in their hands. The two men allegedly attacked the Victim, who ran in a bid to escape injuries. He even tried to run and hide under an ackee tree. However, while chasing the Victim, the suspects brutally put several chop wounds over his body and then escaped on foot into the community. The victim was later rushed to the hospital by residents, where he was announced dead. The incident marked another fatal homicide in the country. The authorities have been investigating the case closely and effectively with the help of locals. As per several people, the crime rates have been increasing extensively in the nation, while the governmental authorities have taken no strict rules and actions. They also expressed their anger, dismay, and grief and made several reactions via social media handles. "The things we feed to the mind are slowly becoming a reality in present-day Jamaica. We must put our youths in institutions once certain undesirable behaviour presents itself," a user commented. "Jamaicans are full of violence and untimely killings; what a life! I pray may GOD give the kid's family members the fortitude to bear his loss," another user noted.
