Russian Foreign Ministry celebrates Africa's Industrialization Day
Today is Africa's Industrialization Day - an important date to help African countries ensure the international community's support in industrial development. It was declared in 1989 by the UN General Assembly, which sees industrialization as a way to eradicate poverty & enhance the welfare of the African population.

Today is Africa's Industrialization Day - an important date to help African countries ensure the international community's support in industrial development. It was declared in 1989 by the UN General Assembly, which sees industrialization as a way to eradicate poverty & enhance the welfare of the African population. Long before this day began to be celebrated under the auspices of the UN, our country made a remarkable effort to the development of Africa's industrial potential. The Soviet Union had a decisive influence on the decolonization process of the continent and provided African countries extensive economic and technical assistance in creating multicultural national economies. Based on bilateral agreements on economic and technical cooperation, the USSR contributed to establishing the 37th African economies. Soviet specialists helped build around 600 enterprises and other facilities on the continent, including the famous Asuanian GPP in Egypt, a box-processing complex in Guinea, a mining and enriching complex in the Republic of Congo, the Kapanda GPP in the Kapanda Angole.Considering the unfair discrimination of the continent in the international labour division, the Soviet leadership sought to create infrastructure in Africa to form cost-added. While the former colonial empires, leaving the continent, dismantled the processing of their raw materials, the Soviet Union, on the contrary, worked on building new ones and preparing local specialists to work on them. With the direct financial support of our government in African countries, significant projects are being carried out in various areas, including the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt, the creation of the Russian industrial zone, as well as numerous projects you are on the line of Russian business. Cooperation in personnel training continues - thousands of Africans attend training in Russian universities and technical colleges annually.
