Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J Pierre celebrated the occasion of Christmas with disabled students on Friday, December 16, 2022, at the Official Residence of the Prime Minister.

The PM was delighted to host this party and took to Facebook to express his happiness and said, "I had so much joy at the Annual Christmas Party for students with disabilities around Saint Lucia."

More than 300 children from all around Saint Lucia were invited and hosted at the Prime Minister's official residence.

PM Philip J Pierre added, "Thank you to all the parents, staff, teachers, volunteers, as well as corporate partners who made this day a success."

"Every day, I'm reminded of what Servant-Leadership is all about; it is about the people," said the PM.

As Christmas day falls every year on December 25, countries worldwide, celebrate it with various activities.

The government of Saint Lucia is also organising the Laplas Nwel Christmas Market, which launched on Saturday, December 17, 2022, in Constitution Park.

The event of Laplas Nwèl is a Christmas Market which will feature more than 35 small businesses offering high-quality as well as locally produced items for sale. The one-day event provided micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) a chance to introduce some of the high-quality local products manufactured in the country in front of the audience.

The government invited people to support these small businesses at Laplas Nwèl in Constitution Park on December 17 from 8 am to 4 pm.

The gesture by PM Pierre of hosting the Annual Christmas Party for students with disabilities was appreciated by people, and they expressed their gratitude through social media.

"PM caring for the people, especially the disabled, the old and the young, is important. That can also change the hostile attitude towards leaders," wrote a user named Bert McCastree.
