The Ministry of National Security welcomes 113 recruits in the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment of Trinidad and Tobago Defense Task Force (TTDF) on 20 December 2023.

Trinidad and Tobago: Ministry of National Security welcomes 113 new regiment recruits
Port of Spain: The Ministry of National Security welcomed 113 recruits in the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment of Trinidad and Tobago Defense Task Force (TTDF) on Thursday. The passing out parade was held at Teteron Barracks, Chaguaramas, on Saturday, 16 December. It was attended by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Security, M.S Natasha Barrow, and the Chief of Defense Staff, Air Vice Mashal Darryl Daniel. Along with the other dignitaries was the commanding officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment, Colonel Keston Charles, who, along with all the other formation commanders, was in attendance to welcome the recruits to military service. While welcoming the recruits at a passing out parade this Saturday, Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds M.P commended them all.

He said, “Choosing a career in Trinidad and Tobago defense task force that will make a positive difference by contributing to the greater security of our republic”.

NSA reminded them, “You recruits are a key part of national security’s crime-fighting efforts and act as a repellent to those involved in, or maybe considering criminal activities, particularly organized groups and Gangs.”

Minister Hinds also encouraged the Regiment’s newest members to practice the principles instilled during their training- Courage, loyalty, integrity, mutual respect, discipline and teamwork. He even urged them to “never find yourselves in situations that compromise your integrity and bring the office into disrepute. Stay on the right side of the law.”

The minister applauded the dedicated instructor along with the other members of the staff of the Defense Force Military Academy who are responsible for preparing the recruits for national duties.

He thanked them for their dedication, time, and efforts in developing the human resources of the TTDF by transitioning recruits and serving members as future leaders.

He assured them that fifty (50) new patrol vehicles for the TTDF and repairs would soon commence for four (4) patrol vessels and two (2) supply vessels.
