PM Holness welcomes 80 member delegation of Saudi Arabian investors

Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness welcomed Deputy Minister for Investors Outreach in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Badr Al Badr, and his 80-member delegation of Saudi Arabian investors to the Historic Naval Dockyard in Port Royal. It is the largest investment delegation that has ever reached the Caribbean.

PM Holness said that the Saudi Arabian delegation's visit is expected to provide well-needed foreign direct investment to help boost the Jamaican economy.

"Jamaica and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seek to facilitate cooperation and investment in tourism, trade and commerce, agriculture and other key sectors," Prime Minister Holness added.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett also stated that it is by far the largest and strongest group of investors from the Middle East to arrive in Jamaica. The delegation visited Jamaica after partaking in the inaugural two-day Caribbean-Saudi Arabia Summit that started in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.

Minister Bartlett added that the members of the delegation would be exploring possible investment options in many areas, which also include logistics, agriculture, infrastructure and real estate, and tourism and hospitality.

"We are excited about the possibilities of being able to show them the different investment opportunities in the Corporate Area, in Montego Bay and other areas,".
