At least six people were killed and six others wounded in a suicide blast outside a military training centre in the Afghan capital on Thursday, officials said.
"A suicide bomb blast occurred at a street in front of Marshal Fahim National Defence University in Police District 5. The initial information found six people were killed and six others wounded," the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement.
The explosion occurred as cadets were leaving the college, which is one of Afghanistan’s main officer training academies.
Security forces cordoned off the area for precautionary measures.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which came as Taliban representatives met senior Afghan politicians in Moscow as part of efforts to reach a settlement to end the 18-year-long conflict.
