Over a dozen killed as Southern India experiences massive rainfall

At least 12 individuals have lost their lives in the incidents of house and wall collapses as Southern India experiences heavy rainfalls.
Over nine people were killed in the city of Hyderabad after a boundary wall collapsed and fell on a set of homes during massive thundershowers Tuesday night, provincial legislator Asaduddin Owaisi stated on Twitter.
Indian media reports stated a two-month-old infant was also the victim of these incidents.
Three more individuals including an old pair and their grandson were killed when their house fell during the rain in a nearby village on Tuesday night, reported the local media.
Daily life has been forced out of gear across portions of Hyderabad as streets are flooded and vehicles flooded elsewhere in some areas.
Telangana and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh states have observed big downpours for the last three days caused by a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal.
A total of 18 people have been killed in the region since Monday, Indian media reports declared.
Hyderabad experienced 25cm (10 inches) of rain in the past 24 hours, the largest in over 20 years, the Indian Meteorological Department officials announced, according to the Times of India newspaper.
Heavy rains and downpours are expected in the region through Thursday. Specialists in Hyderabad announced a holiday on Wednesday and Thursday and asked citizens to stay indoors.
India’s monsoon season between June and early October has already seen extensive death and devastation.
The rains have destroyed rice paddies and other produce such as corn, cotton, and pulses, traders stated, but they told it was too early to evaluate the full amount of crop losses.
As per the statistics by home ministry of India, more than 1,030 people have died in rain-related incidents between June and mid-September 2020.
More than 9.6 million individuals across South Asia have been struck by severe floods this year, with numbers of people struggling to get food and medicine.
