A man suspected to carrying a gun into a bowling alley, speaking a four-hour siege in Britain, has been arrested.
Warwickshire Police told the press that their officers brought the incident to “a peaceful resolution”.
The suspect was treated at the scene – although it is unclear what injuries he suffered.
The two held hostage – both staff at the bowling alley – were treated for shock.
WIC News understands that police were called to the scene at around 2.30pm local time after reports that an armed man had taken hostages at MFA Bowl in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Two other men have been assessed but were uninjured and have been discharged in scene. Four hours later, police stormed the building – reportedly amid a series of “flash bangs” – and arrested the suspect.
The incident was not connected to terrorism, the police force said.
A number of news outlets in the UK report that the man entered the bowling alley, which is understood to have had around 40 to 50 people in at the time, and shouted “game over”.
