Tropical Storm Ida: Biden says "historic investment" required for revival
Tropical Storm Ida left a trail of destruction in New York, New Jersey and Louisiana. People are devastated after their homes and businesses were destroyed because of heavy floodings, rainfalls.

President Joe Biden stated that some "historic investment" is required to take everything back on track. A state of emergency continues to be in place in New York and New Jersey. The two states are expecting federal funds to support disaster relief.

Flash floods, heavy rainfall and tornadoes caused by Tropical Storm Ida left more than 45 dead and thousands of others displaced in the United States. The flooding was so massive that in some offices, the water reached more than 7.1 metres high.

The deluge also left a baseball stadium in Bridgewater, New Jersey submerged. The officials also had to rescue people through a boat in some residential areas.

Marcio Rodrigues, an Auto Repair Shop Owner, told BBC that he is a father to three kids and has a wife, but the destruction has left him numb, and he is not even able to calculate his losses. He said his business was his dream and is now under the water because of flash floods in New York.

Tornadoes in New Jersey destroyed many homes, taking away the roofs. While recalling the storm night, people said that "they were lucky" as the condition was horrific.
