Saint Lucia ties with Taiwan to permote tourism and agriculture

Castries ,Saint Lucia :To promote tourism and agriculture The first “Caribbean and Pacific Regions Tourism and Agricultural Products Reception” was held at Grand Hyatt, Taipei capital of Taiwan.

The event featured the exchange of both the countries sceneries and proud products, and it also included Saint Lucia’s rum, sea moss, hand-made soap and chocolate product.

Isaac C. Chiu, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Economic Affairs of Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry, stated that most of our diplomatic allies concentrate on the growth of tourism and receive international guests. It proves that these countries are beautiful.

“It’s significant to promote tourism and agricultural products from Taiwan’s diplomatic allies,” mentioned Simon Wang, executive vice president of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

A letter of intent to improve tourism has been signed on-site by the Taiwan Quality Assurance Association with tourism organisations from seven countries, including Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA).

Both sides suppose to promote mutual collaboration, exchange experiences and share information.

Mr Ben Wu, a famous travel YouTuber who visited Saint Lucia in April 2019, also shared his worthy travel experience of having a mud bath and a sip of rum with his public during his stay in Saint Lucia.

It is also a big down that Global tourism has struggled this year because of COVID-19. It affected not only tourism but also many activities which directly hit the world economy.

The reception was aimed at increasing the exposure of Taiwanese travel agencies to the tourism industries of Taiwan’s diplomatic allies in the Caribbean and Pacific regions.

The exhibition was organised through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan, Taiwan TAITRA, partnering with Taiwan Embassy in Saint Lucia, Saint Lucia and other foreign Embassies in Taiwan.
