St Kitts and Nevis: Former Commissioner of Labour Clifford Thomas passes away
The former Commissioner of Labour, Mr Clifford Thomas passed away on Wednesday. Minister of Labour Wendy Phipps sent out condolences to his family and colleagues.

He served as the Federation's Commissioner of Labour for 11 years, during the period 1997 to 2008.
In paying tribute to Thomas, Minister of Labour, Wendy Phipps indicated that she have worked with him in various capacities over the past 25 years:
"I had the pleasure of working with Clifford Thomas as Commissioner of Labour from as early as 1997. This was shortly after our Federation became a Member State of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in 1996," said Phipps.
"We worked on the National Tripartite Committee on International Labour Standards for approximately 13 years; as well as major programmes focused on matters such as the Labour Market Information System, the ILO's Decent Work® Country Programme, the Labour Exchange System, and the Feasibility Study on the Establishment of a National Productivity Centre for St. Kitts and Nevis. His support to, and facilitation of these key initiatives geared towards the further development of our national labour force were greatly appreciated," Minister Phipps added.
The funeral service of Mr Clifford Thomas is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Zion Moravian Church, Victoria Road, Basseterre.
The Minister of Labour Wendy Phipps, would have already reached out the immediate family of Thomas shortly after his passing. The Department of Labour also reiterated its expressions of sincere condolences to the family of former Commissioner of Labour Thomas, in particular, his wife Kathleen Jean Thomas; his children Alwyn Thomas and Lavida Thomas-Richardson, and their children.
