PM Timothy Harris thanks US Govt for donation of Field Hospitals
St Kitts and Nevis received a donation of one of the two Field Hospitals from the US government to help in fight against deadly virus.

Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Dr Timothy Harris accepted that donation of the first of two field hospitals and other equipment including vehicles and computers from the US government on October 13, 2021.
Prime Minister also expressed that he is extremely grateful to the government of the US for their generosity, which is now helping the twin-island country to increase its national capacity. He added that field hospitals are extremely significant donations. Dr Harris said that he was informed that the donated hospitals are temporary medical facilities where emergency health services can be provided in both the short and medium-term victims injured in epidemics, war or natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods and earthquakes.Strengthening the health infrastructure, the field hospital will greatly assist the Federation in the fight against COVID-19. Prime Minister elaborated that the 40-bed field hospital is a critical tool, as the field hospitals have provided aid around the world during unprecedented times and still, it will benefit the Federation.
Prime Minister also expressed his hope with the facility, which will have a positive impact in stemming the spread and providing medical assistance to the persons who contracted the COVID-19 virus.
Prime Minister Harris said that the United States as a vital ally of Saint Kitts and Nevis, as the government recently also donated 11,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine to the twin-island country. The Ministry of health has already conducted training for setting up the field hospitals through the national emergency management agency to ensure that local administration is able to manage the infrastructure.Latest
