St Paul, St Kitts: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis officially opened Ramada Hotel on Thursday. The 300 bedroom hotel will strengthen the country's hospitality sector and provide extensive employment opportunities to locals.
A broad cross-section of business and government officials attended the opening ceremony of the five-star hotel at St Paul's.
Prime Minister Dr The Honourable Timothy Harris, along with cabinet colleagues Akilah Byron-Nisbett, Jonel Powell, Eugene Hamilton and Wendy Phipps, Citizenship by Investment Unit CEO Les Khan and other delegates participated in the Grand Opening of the Ramada Hotel.
Prime Minister Harris stated that Ramada would increase the economic activity of St Kitts and Nevis; he said, "Today, we are celebrating the official opening of Ramada, and I want to place on record the Government's deep appreciation to Ramada for the investment at this critical moment in time."
Harris added, "It speaks well to efforts at diversifying the economy, especially at this critical period in time, and I am sure that the guests who will come will certainly enjoy the accommodating environment here in the northeast of St Kitts and Nevis."
He called the opening of Ramada another positive development, "bringing more jobs and opportunities for people". PM said the hotel is a symbol of the growth and transformation of rural St Kitts.
The construction of Ramada started in 2015 under the leadership of PM Timothy Harris. As the tourism season slowly resumes in St Kitts and Nevis, Ramada would make an excellent choice for stay-over guests.
The luxurious resort is expected to significantly improve the hotel room stock in the Federation at a time when the tourism sector is rebounding. The locals are extremely happy with the official opening of the hotel as hundreds of job opportunities in the hospitality sector will generate major employment in St Kitts and Nevis.
