PM Harris commends all as country immunised more than half of target population

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis have applauded the efforts of health workers and the general public for contributing to the country's vaccine drive. Dr Timothy Harris stated that it is great that more people are coming forward to receive their coronavirus vaccine, and the efforts are contributing to returning to normalcy. He stated that over 20 thousand doses of Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines had been administered as of Thursday, which is a great accomplishment. He commended all individuals for their bit. Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris stated that the data show that persons are moving forward to receive their second dose and become fully vaccinated. "When people take their health into their hands, get vaccinated sooner rather than later, they reduce the risks to themselves and their loved ones, they help put our economy back to create more jobs, steady incomes and greater opportunities for all," stated Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris.

He also shared the vaccine slogan on his Twitter account to encourage people, "Don't wait to protect your family and loved ones - vaccinate. Don't wait to get the economy working - vaccinate. Don't wait to get back to your way of life - vaccinate,"

St Kitts and Nevis aim to immunize 33,037 individuals, which is half of its small population. The target audience would assist the country in achieving herd immunity so day to day activities can be resumed. As per the health ministry's data, 15048 doses of vaccine are administered in St Kitts, and around 5088 people have received the dose in Nevis. The AstraZeneca vaccine is taken in two doses, and only 5111 have been fully immunized with two doses.
