These are called Amory Polly, and they’re sweet like syrup #NevisNice" The small island of Nevis is the home to one of the tastiest mangoes in the world; the island possesses more than 44 types of mango, each with its own unique flavour, taste and name.

Some of the more common are Amory Polly, Julie, and Graham, but there are actually mangoes to suit every taste , and everyone is sure to find their favourite.

Every year, Nevis observes mangoes at the top of their ripeness in July with the Nevis Mango & Food Festival. This year the festival will be celebrated on 2nd - 4th JULY 2021 The event is now in its fifth year will once again bring together renowned international chefs like UK Iron Chef Judy Joo- host of the Food Channel’s “Korean Food Made Simple,”

She is also a cookbook author, restaurateur and regular guest on The Food Network and many morning programs.

Chef Judy also manages the line-up of global and local chefs who make soups, desserts, entrees and cocktails with this luscious fruit, although locals favour eating it fresh off the tree. This interesting and exciting Mango festival is part of the Nevis Tourism Authority’s centre on Culinary Wellness, which is visible in all of the wonderful restaurants, lakefront bars and healthy food adventures to be had all over Nevis. Fresh fruits and vegetables and amazing fish picked each day from local waters offer for palate-pleasing snacks. And couple that with wellness pursuits like spa treatments, yoga classes, outdoor rainforest hikes and field walking trips – not to consider all of the beach and water projects – and you’re in for a wonderful holiday.
