Myanmar's ex ambassador to London locked out of Embassy for breaking-up with military

Myanmar's ex-ambassador in London had to spend Wednesday night in his car after saying he was locked out of his embassy.

Kyaw Zwar Minn said staff were told to leave the house by Myanmar's military attaché, and he was dismissed as the country's deputy. British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has denounced the "bullying actions," but the UK has taken the money.

Myanmar's military took power in a coup on 1 February, sparking protests and increasing violence. Kyaw Zwar Minn has criticised the military coup and asked Myanmar's ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi, to be published.

About 600 people - including dozens of children - have been removed so far as pro-democracy demonstrators need a return to power of chosen leader Ms Suu Kyi and her National League for Democracy (NLD) party.

Through an agent out the embassy's front on Thursday morning, Kyaw Zwar Minn urged the UK government not to see the military junta's newly appointed agent and give them back to Myanmar.

"There was a coup in Myanmar in February. Now there is the same location in central London," he said, maintaining office staff were being approached with "severe penalty if they don't stay to work for the army general".

Police were reportedly called to stop staff from re-entering the house. Protesters gathered outside after news spread that the ambassador had been locked out.

According to the Vienna Convention on consular relationships, an ambassador's job properly stops one the owner country has been informed.
