President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, attended a community meeting at the 8th of May Secondary School located in Dartmouth Village, Region Two .

Georgetown, Guyana: President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali, attended a community meeting at the 8th of May Secondary School located in Dartmouth Village, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) on Saturday.
The community meeting was part of his on-the-ground Cabinet outreach in the Region. He has so far met with farmers, the private sector and residents from various communities.
President spoke about the methods to uplift education in the country. He also discussed how virtual learning assisted the world during lockdowns.
He was joined by Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips; Senior Minister within the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, the Dr Ashni Singh; Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Oneidge Walrond; Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, the Honourable Nigel Dharamlall; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, the Honourable Charles Ramson Jr; Chief of Staff of the Guyana Defence Force, Brigadier Godfrey Bess and Acting Police Commissioner, Mr Nigel Hoppie, along with other technical staff and government representatives.
The meeting was attended by various members, and the COVID-19 protocols were thoroughly followed. Every presentee was exercising social distancing while wearing face masks to ensure the health protocols were being followed.
