Several Caribbean island nations have begun the roll-out of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine. The roll-out begins after the United States of America donated 200,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines to many island countries like St Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Dominica, Trinidad and Tobago, among others. The Pfizer dose is also suitable for children over the age of 12. The majority of the countries in the list already started immunizing the 12 to 17 age groups after taking parental approval.  Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is the first coronavirus related vaccine to get licensed approval in the United States of America. It is the most widely used dose across the US and is proven to be 95% effective in protecting trial participants from COVID-19 for those 16 years and older while showed 100% effectiveness in the age group of 12 to 15 years. 

Dosage of Pfizer vaccine- 

Like other coronavirus vaccines, Pfizer is also given in two doses to get maximum protection from the virus. The second dose can be given after 21-days of receiving the first one. However, it may vary from country to country. 

Side effects-

The side effects of the vaccine outweigh the potential risks of the virus. An average person is likely to face temporary side effects that could last for few hours or perhaps two to three days in some cases after getting the dose. The very common side effects include mild fever, muscle aches, headache, chills, swelling, redness, soreness of the arm, joint pain. 

Rare side effects-  

Every medicine reacts differently to each individual. The Pfizer vaccine could have some rare side effects on some individuals, as based on the official reports. Myocarditis and pericarditis Bell's palsy (facial paralysis) is highly rare.  But, some individuals might experience hives, increased heart rate, difficulty in breathing, loss of consciousness, low blood pressure, swollen lips, face, tongue or airways. 

What to do if you experience side effects?

Any individual who experiences rare side-effect of the Pfizer vaccine must consult their health practitioners. While hyper-allergic people must get the dose only after contact their doctors.
