Grenada: First female Attorney General assumes office

The Caribbean island nation of Grenada has elected its first woman Attorney General Dia C. Forrester. Prior to her recent appointment, Forrester worked as the Caribbean country's Solicitor General for a period of 21 months, local media reported.
While there, she was highly active and played a key role in legal matters concerning the government as well as in mediations.
With over 11 years of experience under her belt as an attorney-at-law, Forrester replaces Darshan Ramdhani, who is set to briefly serve as a judge in the British Virgin Islands – reportedly for the second time – and also go back to private practice.

Speaking specifically about the new Attorney General, DIA Forester, who previously served as Solicitor General, Dr. Mitchell said the response from people in the legal profession, employees in the Ministry of Legal Affairs, and others in public service With whom he has interacted. It is that he is a well respected professional.
He said, "She is considered a professionally strong person and is well placed to guide the government in the field of legal matters."
