No additional taxes on citizens will be imposed for constructing International Airport: PM Skerrit
Prime Minister also said that the government will not impose any additional taxes on citizens to fulfill the financing requirements of the airport. He said international airport project will be just like Housing Dominica financing model that will benefit the citizens without any short, medium or long term taxes.

Dominica is admired globally for its fascinating beaches, lakes, and waterfalls. This natural attraction hooks up tourist from across the globe to visit the country. To encourage tourism in the country demand of an international airport has been raised from the past several years. This has also been part of the agenda of ruling political parties. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced that there are multiple proposals from firms from China, India, and Dubai including two multilateral agencies from Europe to construct the international airport.
While speaking up at an event Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said, “The international airport will be located in Wesley constituency and a firm decision is expected to be taken this year and airport will have regular international flights to facilitate the tourists coming from all around the world.”
“Taking the decision of construction and provision of an international airport is one the most complex that we have had to take as a government, but we shall do it and do it correctly.” He added.
