Dominica to get over 274 cruise-calls this season
After more than a year of closure, the cruise season finally commenced in Dominica. The first cruise ship of the tourism season docked at the Roseau City port on Friday.

As the official data, the country is expecting over 274 cruise calls in the 2021-22 tourism season and around seventeen of these would be inaugural cruises. If everything remains fine, around 413,577 cruise passengers are likely to visit Dominica during the season.
The Celebrity Equinox docked at the Roseau City port on Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The cruise ship brought hundreds of passengers, making things easier for the local vendors, crafters, and artists.
Since July 2021, the country received seven cruise calls. The ships brought a total of 2,940 who engaged in various activities the country has to offer on the beautiful nature island. The officials said around 1300 of the passengers visited various sites, including the Emerald Pool Trafalgar Falls, Ti Tou Gorge, and some also went for whale watching. Dominica is the only place in the world where sperm whales remain throughout the year.The cruise passengers were handled by adherence to full coronavirus related protocols. All taxi drivers, tour guides and other vendors followed the health-related protocols to ensure the safety of everyone.
Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) assured that everything was well-handled during the first official cruise visit of the season. They said the upcoming cruise passengers are likely to assist Dominica overcoming the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
