Dominica is on the right track and moving in the right direction says PM Roosevelt Skerrit

The Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit made his presence at a public meeting organised for Dominican diaspora at the neighbouring island Barbados.
The public meeting titled ‘A National Conversation’ was specially organised to aware the Dominican’s residing in Dominica regarding their motherland and its rebuilding efforts.
PM Dr. Skerrit was accompanied by some of his cabinet colleagues including his wife Mrs Melissa Skerrit who is also general elections candidate for upcoming elections.
During the event, PM showcased gratitude to the Barbados government for their support and help during Hurricane Maria. Dr Skerrit referred to the friendship between the two countries as ‘Extremely Special’.
“Dominica is on the right track and moving in the right direction, we are not perfect, we have made mistakes but there are accomplishments of Dominica Labour Party government that can be put on record.” Added Skerrit.
Dr Skerrit said that Dominica Labour Party has a plan and vision to take Dominica forward and currently there are several projects that are undergoing in order to develop the nation. He said,“No matter the sector, but something is happening right now in Dominica.”
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit not only praised Dominica, but he put all the facts on record to count the development that is either undergoing or is about commence on the island soon.
“Kempinski 160 rooms will be officially opened on Saturday, Marriot hotel and spa 143 rooms under construction, a hill resort with 75 rooms are under construction, Jungle Bay has opened an additional 55 villas will be opened by the end of December 2019. Even the Secret Bay hotel is expanding and working to up more villas.”
The geothermal project also remained a part of the discussion at the Barbados public meeting where Dr Roosevelt Skerrit said that the Geothermal project is well on stream and will go to tender very soon to commence work in the first quarter of 2020.
While discussing the future projects of the Dominica Labour Party government, PM said that a Marigot Hospital, new cruise ship village and cargo port, Roseau enhancement project is under construction and various new bridges and roads will commence their construction work in coming months.
