Prime Minister also remembered the lives lost to COVID-19 in Dominica and condoled their loved ones. Applauding the hard work of health workers, Prime Minister Skerrit stated that their services to the state have been unprecedented and extraordinary. "I am reminded of the early days of the pandemic when officers of the fire and ambulance services showed a high level of bravery and dedication to contain and manage the virus," stated the Prime Minister. "One might argue that you were simply doing your jobs, but we know it was more than that because we were dealing with a new phenomenon," added the PM Skerrit. He stated that the Ministry of Health demonstrated true resilience in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The efforts to mitigate the virus began at the earliest, even before the first case was recorded in Dominica. "We were among the first to receive and make available the life-saving vaccines for the population," said Prime Minister.
