Dominica: Over 342 COVID-19 patient discharged from medical facilities in 2 days

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment of Dominica reported 221 new cases of coronavirus between 20 to 21st September. As per data, over 342 patients were also discharged from medical facilities during that time.
The Health Ministry noted that out of the total 221 new cases, 215 cases were tested via Antigen testing, while only six were deducted through the PCR method.
Dominica, since 2021 confirmed over 3134 coronavirus cases and 11 virus-related deaths. Around 2575 people successfully recovered from the virus islandwide, and there are only 548 active cases.
The officials of the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment noted that over 68,333 COVID-19 tests had been carried out since the beginning of the pandemic in 2021. The data reported that 42,396 were carried out with Antigen testing and 25,937 with PCR testing method.
The country also vaccinated over 23,489 people with their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 20,803 are now fully vaccinated against the virus. On Tuesday, 11,700 doses were delivered by the government of the United States of America; now, Dominica is aiming to vaccinate 12 to 17-year-olds using FDA approved vaccine.
Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit stated on Wednesday that, "With the availability of these doses, the 12 to 17-year-old age group will have access to COVID19 vaccines."
