Dominica in talks with United, Delta and Air Canada for direct connectivity
Tourism Minister Denise Charles said that the Tourism Ministry is in talks with different airlines like Delta, United, Air Canada to start flights to Dominica.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the Minister for Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives Denise Charles in redefining the tourism structure of the country.
Cabinet Minister Denise Charles stated that the Tourism Ministry is in talks with different airlines like Delta, United, Air Canada to start flights to Dominica. Minister Charles discussed the difficulties travellers had to face to reach Dominica. She said the government and ministry acknowledged their challenges and talked to American Airlines to direct Miami flights. She said with the direct connectivity, now passengers from 40 different international cities can book from their destination and arrive in Dominica on the same day with all their luggage, equipment and gear.She also called the direct flight from Trinidad and Tobago a major source of market.
"We are aggressively pursuing various methods to ensure that people can come to Dominica on the same day they depart from their country; it is very critical for our destination, so far discussions are advancing positively," said Minister Denise Charles.
She also stated that major changes are made to the Douglas Charles International Airport, seaports to give visitors a great arrival experience.
Furthermore, she stated that many travellers have already made bookings for Dominica and the first quarter of 2022 looks bright for service providers like tour guides, vendors, tour operators and others.She said since the beginning of the current tourism season, more than ten thousand people have disembarked and taken tours in Dominica.
Minister noted that people would soon be able to get private bubble tours where travellers can explore the country.
