A seven-member delegation from Dominica's United Workers Party is visiting China over the next two weeks, reportedly at the invitation of the ruling Communist Party of China.

The parliamentary opposition will meet and hold discussions with officials of the government of China on China-Caribbean relations, economic growth policies, renewable energy, ICT, agro-processing and light manufacturing opportunities.

A UWP release also states that prevention of corruption in public office will be among the areas of mutual interest which will be discussed with the Chinese officials.

The delegation is comprised of Lennox Linton, Ezekiel Bazil, Joshua Francis, Hector John, Danny Lugay, Felix Thomas and Former UN Ambassador Crispin Gregoire, the release says.

Team leader and leader of the party, Lennox Linton, said: “The parliamentary opposition welcomes this opportunity to explore first-hand maximising intelligent use of Dominica’s relationship with China for mutual benefit and advancement of global civilization.”

The delegation left Dominica yesterday, WIC News understands.
