Wonder of the Seas join Royal Caribbean fleet, all set to sail Caribbean from Florida
The wait is over for people who were waiting for the world's largest cruise ship to start its operations. The Wonder of Seas has finally joined the Royal Caribbean fleet and will be ready to sail to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in March 2022. The ship was delivered to Royal Caribbean at Marseille, France, with dignitaries from the shipyard, Chantiers de l'Atlantique, present for the traditional flag-changing ceremony. "Taking delivery of Wonder of the Seas shows the culmination of more than 2,000 dedicated crew members and professionals who are among the best at what they do," said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

He dubbed the new ship the "fleet's most inventive ship."

The Royal Caribbean fleet has welcomed the Wonder of the Seas, a much-anticipated cruise ship with a capacity of nearly 7,000 passengers and 2,300 staff members. It's the fifth ship in the line's Oasis Class, and it takes the title of the world's largest ship from sister ship Symphony of the Seas. The Wonder is about 4% larger than the Symphony, weighing in at 236,857 tonnes.

"Under tough conditions, our teams worked together to make important adjustments that improved ship performance," said Laurent Castaing, general manager of Chantiers de l'Atlantique. "Wonder is a truly remarkable new ship."
