T&T updates new COVID vaccination combination list

The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago has announced a new WHO Approved COVID-19 Vaccine combination.

Trinidad and Tobago: The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago has announced a new WHO Approved COVID-19 Vaccine combination. T&T's Ministry of Health stated in a press release that the World Health Organization - WHO has indicated the COVID-19 vaccine combination of 1st dose AstraZeneza COVID-19 vaccine and 2nd dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is approved, seeing which the island country has updated its list of approved COVID-19 vaccines and vaccine combinations. The updated list of the COVID-19 Vaccine combination is as follows-

Pfizer-BioNTech - approved on 31 December 2020
AstraZeneca - approved on 15 February 2021
Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) - approved on 12 March 2021
Moderna-NIAID - approved on 30 April 2021
Sinopharm BIBP- approved on 7 May 2021
Sinovac-CoronaVac - approved on 1st June 2021
1st dose AstraZeneca and 2nd dose Pfizer – BioNTech - approved on 15 June 2021
1st dose AstraZeneca and 2nd dose Moderna-NIAID - approved on 30 July 2021

As per the COVID-19 report by the T&T's Health Ministry, the island has reported new 310 infections of the novel coronavirus, taking the total number of active cases on the island country to 5,922, while 31,565 individuals have been recovered from the deadly COVID-19 mutant, as of 30 July 2021. Till 30 July 2021, the Caribbean island has reported 1070 deaths amid the COVID-19 mutant. So far, there are a total of 382,149 individuals who have received their first dose of the novel coronavirus vaccine, while a total of 191 881 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and are now fully vaccinated against the contagious virus. The report by the Health Ministry further states that around 311 patients are still in the hospital, whereas in total, 5,220 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes. With this, the Health Ministry of T&T reminded the citizens that an individual would only be considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the final dose of a WHO-approved vaccine or vaccine combination as indicated above.
