Trinidad welcomed around 2,916 cruise passengers with the return of Emerald Princess in Port of Spain on Wednesday. The arrival marked the second voyage of this cruise in the nation and has brought the highest number of tourists for the 2023-24 Cruise season.

According to the information, Following the embarkation of 2 cruises, including the Jewel of the Seas and Seven Seas Splendor, earlier on Tuesday, this was the third major cruise call in the final week of February 2024. With the arrival of the Emerald Princess, the visitors had several opportunities. They enjoyed pre-booked tours across the island and explored some of the most popular tourist attractions of Trinidad, such as the Maracas Waterfall, Mt. St. Benedict, Caroni Bird Sanctuary, the House of Angostura, Maracas Beach and Paramin La Vigie Lookout, etc.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts in Trinidad also extended a warm welcome to the guests for gracing the shores of the island.

Notably, In December 2023, the Emerald Princess made its inaugural visit to Trinidad, bringing over 2700 cruise passengers.

While, the previous cruise, Seven Seas Splendor gave its inaugural call for 2024 to the island with the Jewel of Seas, arriving simultaneously on Tuesday. Both cruises carried over 3000 cruise passengers from different parts of the world.

The Ministry of Tourism in Trinidad also hosted a welcome ceremony, which was held onboard the vessel at midday and departed at 9 PM.

This 2023-24 Cruise Season has been highly successful. The nation has received around 25 cruise calls with over 57, 000 cruise passengers and over 21, 000 crew members. Out of these nearly 40,000 cruisers have disembarked and explored the island with a spend of $43 per person, which has significantly contributed to the local economy.

Meanwhile, several cruisers also took to their social media handle to express their happiness and share their experience at the Cruise. A user identified as Gloria Raye mentioned," I am happy because I travel in other countries and enjoy. We can do it if we want to build our country." "We were happy to be on the compound today to meet a Trini relative on the cruise," wrote another passenger onboard.

Some users also made several reactions to the welcome of the visitors. "Wow! Trinidad is the Ultimate Destination! Keep it up!" added another user.
