Trinidad and Tobago tigtens limitations to curb COVID-19 infections

After Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley stated that the hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have increased in the country, Health Minister Terrance Deyalsingh now declared new COVID-19 public health limitations.
Talking at the Ministry of Health press interview, Deyalsingh said he and other state officials met virtually with Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley. He said he had been allowed to put new restrictions in place by the Prime Minister.
The rules that will go into effect at midnight night and end on May 16 are:
° No public meetings for entertainment and concerts
° The public service will return to 50 per cent range on a rotational basis
° Places of worship will be reduced from 50 per cent capacity to 25 per cent capacity. Services will remain at 90 minutes
° Weddings and burials will be limited to ten persons.
Meanwhile, newly-appointed Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds told citizens who do not live by the newly published COVID-19 situations that they will “feel it in their pockets.”
He said he would meet with Police Commissioner Gary Griffith to secure special teams of policemen police to ensure COVID-19 laws are enforced.
Speaking at the Ministry of Health press design, Hinds said he would meet with Griffith and his senior divisional heads.
