Martin added that she was taken to the Saint Joseph Police Station, where she would seek medical attention and the victim witness support was contacted and she is doing fine.

The officer noted that part of this intelligence led team was at the forest, Upper Saint Michael’s Road, St John’s Road and around 9 45 am, a gunfire ensued in the forest following which four kidnappers were found dead.

Following their killing, Suzette Martin noted, “I want to say that we are here to protect and serve Trinidad and Tobago, and I’m happy that the kidnap victim is safe and we will continue inquiries into this investigation.

The senior police officials from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Services (TTPS) believe kidnapped doubles vendor Anisha Hosein-Singh was released by her abductors after intense investigations “spooked” them.

According to the information, Anisha was abducted five days ago and she was found on the road near the Caroni cremation site. A passer-by saw her and took her to the St Joseph Police Station. It is being said that the victim was released following the payment of a ransom by her family members.
