Trinidad and Tobago: The burnt body, believed to be that of a man who went missing, was discovered near Rambally Park in Fyzabad on Monday morning. The deceased is believed to be 64-year-old Russell Bianco of Fyzabad, who has been nowhere to be found since Thursday, May 16, 2024.
According to the reports by police officials, the body was burnt beyond recognition but relatives stated that the boots and belt resembled what Bianco was wearing when he was last seen by them on Thursday.
It was said that around 10 am on Monday, police officers received a report of a burnt body near Rambally Park by an anonymous person who didn’t disclose his identity.
Following the receipt of the report, the officials went to the crime scene only to find the charred remains. The police said that the area surrounding the body was also burnt, with the residents later confirming that there was a bush fire the same day Bianco went missing.
The residents of Bianco were also present on the scene and were seen distraught because of what had transpired with one of their family members.
The officers called the District Medical Officers on the scene who viewed the body and ordered it to be removed from the scene. The police officials also said that DNA testing will likely be done on the body to confirm the identity while an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of the death.
In addition to this, the officials said that investigations are still ongoing into the incident and noted that the 64-year-old alleged victim worked as a security officer at Pepper Village Government School.
The officials also reported that this was the second murder which took place in the Fyzabad area this month so far, and just on Friday, May 3, 32-year-old Enrique Joseph of Cypress Gardens, Union Hall, San Fernando, was found stabbed to death along with John Jules Trace Extension, Fyzabad.
