Trinidad and Tobago: A five-month-old baby Levi Lucas died mysteriously after he reportedly stopped breathing while in care of his babysitter at Nancy’s in Maraval, Trinidad. The incident took place on Monday.
The police officials have launched an investigation into the incident and reported that around 8:30 am, the toddlers’ parents dropped him off in good health conditions at Nancy’s Daycare.
According to the parents, they received a call around midday with the daycare authorities informing them that their son was unresponsive. Upon getting the news, the parents immediately responded and rushed the baby to the Marval Health Center where he was pronounced dead minutes later.
It was reported that Baby Lucas allegedly had blood flowing from his nostrils but there were no apparent marks of violence on his body. The officials said that an autopsy is scheduled to be conducted on the baby to determine the cause of his death.
The father of the child also told the police that Levi was healthy and last attended the clinic in February when he was immunised by a private paediatrician.
As the news of the toddler’s death spread rapidly on Facebook, the citizens and residents of Trinidad and Tobago advised the parents to keep their child with themselves until he is old enough to communicate and understand things.
“This is why I decided to be a stay at home mom till my child is old enough to communicate being mistreated,” wrote a user named Eve Elle Angel while another user said, “The father said he saw blood coming from the child nostrils, with the kind of heat this happen with adults as well and they sometimes die too pending how bad it is.we not leaving out anything otherwise.lets hear from the doctors report.”
Another user named Jane said, “Nah man, the babysitter waited to call the parents, you couldn’t rush the child or call ambulance, what is going on here.”
