Trinidad: 31-year-old stabbed to death in KFC, investigation underway

Trinidad and Tobago: A 31-year-old man became the victim after being shot dead at the KFC of Union Park, Gospaul Lands, Marabella on Friday evening. It is to be noted that the victim was identified as Luka Lorenzo Goring.

As per the reports, the Man was accompanied by his female companion and was standing in a queue to purchase Chicken. Eventually, Goring got into a quarrel with another man standing in the line. The heated argument continued for some time and later escalated into a physical confrontation.

Goring took a knife and stabbed the man numerous times. In response, the man pulled out the firearm to defend himself and shot Goring, while he was attempting to flee on the other side of the outlet. Following the incident, the customers, enjoying their meal at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in Gasparillo were immediately evacuated for safety reasons after Goring was shot dead on the floor at the outlet. Furthermore, the body of the victim was also immediately taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James for medical examination and other procedures. The authorities have already initiated an investigation into the matter. The preliminary reports, CCTV Footage, and videos revealed that an employee attempted to end the fight initially when a woman handed Goring a knife.

The reports also showed that Goring choked the man's throat and stabbed him several times.

The Police authorities, including DCP Simon, Snr Supt Soodeen, ASP Phillip, Insp Maharaj, Sgt Reid, and Sgt Bynoe, along with Southern Division Task Force’s PC Mitchell, PC Lake, and WPC Boodram-Ramdass responded to the incident and are currently undergoing several investigations. They have been collecting evidence from the eyewitnesses, who were present at the scene, in order to gain more clarity on the matter.

The detectives from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations also visited the scene and referred the body for an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre, St James.

However, no further disclosures have been made and the Police are still searching for the man involved in the crime.
