Trinidad: 23-year-old charged with kidnapping, raping teenager
According to the reports, the victim was about to enter her home in Trinidad when she was allegedly grabbed by a man from behind who took her a short distance away from her home to an unfinished structure.

It was reported that Garraway, also known as Red Rat of Fabeau Village, Laventille Road in San Juan, allegedly forced the teenager to perform sexual acts on him before kissing her.
After committing the crime, he made a good escape from the scene, leaving the girl there only.
The incident was reported to the police officials the next day, and the male suspect was arrested on February 1 in connection with it. WPC Rudder was detained to investigate the matter.The suspect, who is reportedly from San Juan, Trinidad, appeared before an Arima Magistrate and was charged with the sexual penetration and kidnapping of a girl on February 6.
According to the information, Magistrate Brambhanan Dubay refused bail to the accused for the crimes he committed.
The police officials have added that he will be reappearing in court in June 24, 2024. The identity of the victim has been kept private because of security reasons, said the police.Notably, Trinidad and Tobago is witnessing an increase in crimes, with several cases of sexual offences on women being reported. The citizens and residents have expressed their worry and have also urged the government to take immediate measures against the criminals.
A user named Gerard Ramoutar said, "All of our institutions set up to protect children are failing, and we are pretending to be shocked that more of our children are being abused."Another user named Philip Ayoung-Chee called the incident as 'serious offence' and said that the situation needs to be dealt with.
