Three injured as a result of Saturday night's traffic accident

Two in hospital and another in custody as police continue an investigation into a traffic accident which occurred in College Street Ghaut, Basseterre on Saturday, April 27.
Police said in statement that the accident involved motor car P3532, which was owned and driven by Denzil Miller of Buckley’s and two pedestrians - Ezekiel France of Upper Monkey Hill and Dorsel Smith of Shadwell Housing.
"Circumstances are that P3532 was traveling from south to north along College Street Ghaut and as he got in the vicinity of Upper College Street, he struck pedestrian Smith. France then attacked the driver and wounded him with a broken bottle to his face and chest," the police statement said.
Police said France sustained injuries to his hand as a result of the wounding and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent after he was treated and discharged from the J N France Hospital.
"Smith sustained injuries to her head, back and shoulder. Smith and Miller remain warded at JNF General Hospital in stable condition," said the police statement.
